That person may indeed have vanished and will never know about your use, it's up to you to decide whether it's worth the risk because that person may still be out there and if you are caught using that font, you get sued.įont lawsuits reach into the millions of dollars, so to avoid that always either buy the font you are using (most fonts don't exceed 50 US dollars for a single seat license) or make sure that it clearly states that it's a commercial use font with no strings attached in a read me or some documentation that comes along with the font. The problem with using those fonts is No License doesn't mean you get to use it for commercial use, it just means that they couldn't find the person who made it.
